Gopher Connect/ What businesses use it for/ Event Staffing & Setup
Events

Doors at seven. Everything
before that is staffing.

Load-in is a four-hour job and the venue gave you two. The registration table needs three people who can be pleasant to strangers at 7 AM. Teardown starts the second the last guest leaves. Post the call time, the headcount, and what the shift involves, and connect with day-of crews nearby — for one event, not a season.

When you'd use this

Three situations this actually solves

Not a category description — the calls event and venue managers are already making.

Typical calls
Load-in and teardown
Truss, staging, tables, chairs, pipe and drape, and all of it back on the truck by midnight. Post the call time and the headcount and reach people who have done a load-in before.
Day-of hands
Registration, coat check, ushering, runners, bussing, and the person who knows where the extension cords went. Sized to the guest count, not to a contract.
The season, not the year
Festival weekends, wedding season, conference blocks, a market that runs eight Saturdays. Post each date and keep the crews that showed up early.
Scope

This is how your request lands

The moment you post, day-of crews nearby see it in the Gopher Go app exactly like this. Name your price, or open it to bids and compare.

Day-of reality

The event does not move, so staff it like it

Events are the one category where being a day early costs nothing and being an hour late costs everything.

Post early, name the call time, and leave yourself a seat.

Everything on Connect is opt-in — a worker accepts your post, they are not assigned to it. That is what keeps the quality up, and it also means the fill is yours to manage, especially for a date that cannot slip.

  • Call time — Put the actual call time on the post, not the door time. Workers plan their day around the number you give them.
  • Buffer — For a hard date, post more seats than the minimum and post them further out than feels necessary.
  • Repeat crews — Save the people who showed up early to MY Gophers and prioritize them for the next date.
We will not promise you a crew we cannot see. How quickly an event shift fills depends on how many Gophers are active near your venue that day, and that varies by market — Gopher iQ will show you what your area actually looks like before you commit to a client. If the event is large, load-bearing, or on a holiday weekend, talk to us before you post it rather than the morning of.
How it works

Posted to doors open

1

Describe the call

Call time, headcount, venue, load-in access, dress code, and what the shift involves. A photo of the room helps.

2

Set what you'll pay

Your offer is what each worker earns — 100% of it. Or open it to bids and compare.

3

Pick who takes it

Review profiles, ratings, and past jobs. Hire, consider, or deny — and save the good ones to MY Gophers.

4

Confirm when it's done

Confirm and rate on completion, which releases payment. Something not right? Dispute instead and give them a chance to fix it.
