Gopher Connect/ What businesses use it for/ Skilled Trades & Handymen
Skilled

The right expertise,
on the day it breaks.

A fixture goes down an hour before opening. Forty new desks arrive Monday and nothing is assembled. The punch list has been growing since the last walkthrough. Post the job with what it actually involves and connect with tradespeople and handymen whose qualifications match the work — not whoever is next in a queue.

Three situations this actually solves

Not a category description — the calls operations managers are already making.

Typical jobs
Something is down
A restaurant's fixture fails before service. A retail location has a leak behind the counter. Post it with photos and what you'll pay, and reach tradespeople nearby who can take it today rather than quote it next week.
Something is arriving
New desks, shelving, or equipment lands before the team does. Assembly and installation crews for a fixed scope, sized to the delivery rather than to a contract minimum.
The list keeps growing
Property and facility managers carrying a running punch list. Work through it in one visit — mounting, patching, painting, door and fixture repairs — instead of a separate vendor per line item.

Qualifications

How we talk about credentials

Trade work is where vague claims cause real problems, so here is the honest version.

Pro-verified: licensed, bonded, or insured

The Pro credential confirms a worker holds the credentials relevant to their trade. Which ones a given Pro carries is shown on their profile — so you can require what your job genuinely needs instead of assuming.

  • Licensed — holds the state or local license their trade requires.
  • Bonded — carries a surety bond covering the work performed.
  • Insured — carries liability coverage for work on your premises.
Read this carefully if the work is license-gated. Trades such as electrical and plumbing are licensed at the state level, and not every qualified handyman holds one — nor does every job require it. Gopher does not claim that every worker is licensed. For license-gated work, set that requirement on the post and confirm the credential on the worker's profile before you accept. Every worker on the platform has passed a background check; that is a separate check from a trade license.
How it works

Posted to on-site

1

Describe the job

Scope, location, access, timing, and any credential the work requires. Photos help a tradesperson size it before accepting.

2

Set what you'll pay

Your offer is what the worker earns — 100% of it. Or open it to bids and compare.

3

Pick who takes it

Review profiles, ratings, and credentials. Hire, consider, or deny — and save the good ones to MY Gophers.

4

Confirm when it's done

Confirm and rate on completion, which releases payment. Something not right? Dispute instead and give them a chance to fix it.
