How staffing more than one person works

This is where a marketplace behaves differently from a staffing agency, so it is worth being plain about it.

Two ways to staff it — and the choice is yours.

When a shift needs more than one person, you decide how the crew gets built: pick every worker yourself, or hire one contractor to assemble the whole crew for you. Both sit on the same post under Labor management, and the choice is Connect-only — it is the difference between a marketplace that makes you take one approach and one that lets you match the job in front of you.

  • Select each worker individually — the fastest route. You review everyone who accepts and approve them one at a time, so every person on the shift is someone you chose — which is why the flags on the cards above read 1 of 2 crew. You can start before every seat is filled. Bids are not available on this option.
  • Hire a contractor to assemble your crew — your post goes to contractors, and the one you hire is responsible for finding every worker the shift needs. One point of contact instead of a stack of approvals, and you can take bids on it.
  • Headcount — Say how many people the shift needs. The post stays open until the seats are filled.
  • Repeat crews — Save the ones who worked out to MY Gophers, and prioritize them the next time you post.
  • Hours — Set the window and the duration. Workers see both before they accept, so nobody arrives surprised.
Be realistic about last-minute fills. Coverage depends on how many Gophers are active near you at that hour, and that genuinely varies by market — Gopher iQ will tell you what your area looks like rather than promising a crew we cannot see. Single-seat, same-day shifts fill most reliably; a six-person overnight posted at 4 PM is a harder ask. Post early where you can, and open it to bids if you would rather compare than guess at the rate.
